Wizz Air to connect Prague with a third Romanian city

The Hungarian low-cost carrier Wizz Air has announced opening of three new routes from the Romanian city of Timisoara. These are connections to Prague, Berlin and Birmingham. All three will start operating in the second half of May 2026.

The flights to Prague, with a frequency of two flights per week, will commence on May 23, 2026. Departures are offered every Tuesday and Saturday. The Maltese branch's Airbus A320s will depart from Timisoara on route W4 3565/6 at 21:10 and, after they stay at Prague’s apron (21:35-22:05 local time), will return to the Romanian airport at 00:35 the following day. The carrier's reservation system has flights for the winter 2026/27 flight schedule as well.

Wizz Air offers flights from Prague to 12 destinations in the winter 2025/2026 flight schedule. These are Bucharest, Catania, Iasi, Kutaisi, Larnaca, London (Gatwick), London (Luton), Rome (Fiumicino), Skopje, Sofia, Tirana and Yereva. The Prague - Chisinau route will start operating on March 3, 2026.

This is an increase compared to last winter. At that time, the list of destinations was as follows: Catania, Kutaisi, Larnaca, London (Gatwick and Luton), Milan (Malpensa), Naples, Rome (Fiumicino), Tirana and Venice.

According to planespotters.net data, the Hungarian carrier operates a fleet of more than 256 aircraft, with an average age of 4.6 years. It serves over 928 routes to 179 airports in 46 countries. In December 2025, it carried 5,847,828 passengers with a load factor of 85.9%.
