Wizz Air to open another route from Bratislava – to Montenegro

The announcements of new routes from the Hungarian low-cost carrier Wizz Air from Bratislava are endless.

As always, it is first worth remembering where Wizz Air currently flies from Bratislava: Alicante, Athens, Barcelona, Bucharest, Chisinau, EuroAirport (Basel/Mulhouse), Košice, Kutaisi, Lamezia Terme, Larnaca, London (Luton), Málaga, Naples, Nis, Oslo (Gardermoen), Palermo, Plovdiv, Skopje, Varna, Yerevan. Twenty destinations.

In January, it started selling tickets from Bratislava to Nice on the French Riviera. And tickets to Podgorica in Montenegro are now also on sale. The inaugural flight will take off on Thursday, May 21, 2026. The company will fly to Montenegro 3 times a week.

This June, Wizz Air is scheduled to fly from Bratislava to 31 destinations. These are Alicante, Athens, Barcelona, Berlin, Bucharest, Chisinau, Dortmund, EuroAirport, KoÅ¡ice, Kutaisi, Lamezia Terme, Larnaca, London (Luton), Malaga, Naples, Nice, NiÅ¡, Ohrid, Oslo (Gardermoen), Palermo, Plovdiv, Podgorica, Pristina, Rome (Fiumicino), Skopje, Tel Aviv, Tirana, Tuzla, Varna, Warsaw (Chopin Airport), Yerevan.

Below is a schedule of new route openings, which always includes the destination name and the date of Wizz Air's inaugural flight:

March: Berlin (16.3.), Rome (Fiumicino, 16.3.), Tirana (16.3.), Dortmund (17.3.), Ohrid (17.3.), Tel Aviv (17.3.), Pristina (17.3.), Tuzla (29.3.), Warsaw (29.3.), Nice (31.3.)

May: Podgorica (21.5.)

The Hungarian carrier announced its intention to establish a base with two Airbus A320 aircraft at Bratislava airport last summer. In the fall, it increased the intended number of based aircraft to four. At the same time, it won the tender for the operation of the domestic route Bratislava - KoÅ¡ice and Slovakia has become a favorite. One of the factors is the complete absence of a ticket tax, which in neighboring Austria is about 300 CZK per passenger. Slovaks also reduced air traffic control fees by 50%.

M. R. Å tefánik Airport was used by 2,212,317 passengers in 2025 (January to November). This is an increase of 21% compared to 2024.
