Letiště Londýn Gatwick zahájilo dnes ráno v 6 hod. místního času omezený provoz poté, kdy bylo letiště ochromeno po 32 hodin kvůli nezákonnému pohybu dronů uvnitř perimetru letiště. Nyní, v pátek večer, je letiště znovu uzavřeno, neboť v 17:10 místního času byla přijata zatím neověřená informace o pohybu dronu v blízkosti letiště. Policie v Sussexu toto hlášení nyní ověřuje. Policie a bezpečnostní složky zatím bezvýsledně pokračují v pátrání po pachateli nebo pachatelích.
Krátce po uzavření letiště byly webové stránky Gatwick Airport nedostupné. Během dnešního dne předpokládalo letiště odbavit kolem 670 z celkového počtu 837 plánovaných letů, ale nyní se zdá, že cestující čekají další problémy a frustrace. Ti si navíc stěžují, že na letišti je zima a chaos. Je zřejmé, že letiště není schopno se s takovou mimořádnou situací vyrovnat. SunExpress of Turkey announced new regular service between Antalya and Prague. SunExpress' Boeing 737-800s will depart Antalya every Tuesday and Friday (from June 11th until September 29th, 2019) at 15:55 and fly to Prague as XQ320. Landing in Prague is scheduled for 18:05 and the plane departs at 18:40 as XQ321 to land in Antalya again at 22:35.

Ryanair announced that it will open a new two-weekly (Tu, Sa) service from Berlin to Brno, which will commence on 02.04.2019. The flights will add traffic to the Ryanair flights from Stansted and Bergamo, the latter was opened this winter again.

CSA Czech Airlines will add their second widebody to the fleet. The Airbus A330-200 will be registered as OK-GBB, and has been leased from Air Transat for the winter season 2018/19.
The airplane (MSN 427, manufactured at 2001) started as G-OJMB for JMC Air Services charters (and leased e.g. to Garuda) and went to Thomas Cook UK together with JMC Air. It has been re-registered as C-GTSI for Air Transat at 2011. Travel Service Poland has ACMI-leased it for last winter and it returns this winter, with Czech crews and under Czech registration.
As the CSA spokesman Daniel Šabík confirmed to planes.cz, OK-GBB will fly from Warsaw from November 2018 until March 2019 and will serve long haul routes, e.g. Punta Cana, Zan...

The Ryanair website offers three new direct flights from Prague for next summer. All flights should start on Monday, April 1st, 2019. The FR8210/1 flights are offered between Prague and Bari (Mo+Fr, 07:00 Prague 08:55 Bari 09:20 Prague 11:15). Bari connection is offered already now, however there is a transfer at BGY. The second route, FR8242/3 is expected to connect Prague with Pescara (Mo: 13:25 PRG 15:05 Pescara 15:30 Pragie 17:10. Friday flights are set to the following times: 11:50 Prague 13:30 Pescara 13:55 Prague 15:35). The FR8260/1 flights are scheduled for Treviso in northern Italy (Mo: 09:40 Prague 10:55 Treviso 11:20 Prague 12:35, We and Fr: 10:25 Prague 11:40 Treviso 12:05, Prague 13:05, Su: 14:05 Prague 15:20 Treviso 15:45, Prague 17:00).

A Qatar Airways Boeing 787 Dreamliner will be used on the second Doha-Prague frequency since Oct 28th. Both flights are serviced by an A320 nowadays. The QR 291/2 flights will leave Doha at 8 a.m. to land in Prague at 12:25. The return flight is scheduled for 4:10 p.m. (PRG) to 11:40 p.m. (DOH). All times local.

The UAE lowcost Air Arabia connects Sharjah to Prague from Dec 11th. An Airbus A320 will depart Sharjah every Tuesday and Sunday as G9 584 at 8 am and lands in Prague at 11:40. The return flight (G9 583) departs at 12:25 and should land at 21:25 at the home base. Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday times are 15:30 Sharjah, 19:10-21:10 Praha, 6:10 (+1) Sharjah.

As Reuters reported Today, Thai branch of Air Asia X is planning to launch Bangkok - Prague (- Vienna, - Stockholm) after delivery of two new aircraft in April 2019. Air Asia has 100 Airbus 330neo on order so this type will be probably selected for operation the service.

CSA Czech Airlines decided to cancel their Skopje flights effective July 18. This regular service has been opened in 2016 and flew 3 times a week, to be changed to seasonal very early and canceled these days.
