On Tuesday, October 21, 2025, a Boeing 777F registred B-227W (serial number 42230, manufactured 2013) of the Chinese Central Airlines landed at Katowice Airport. It was the inaugural flight of a new regular cargo service from Chengdu to Katowice. The new flight will operate three to five times a week. The long-haul Boeing will take about nine hours to travel from China. The Boeing with registration B-227W has a special Cargo City Katowice Airport sticker on its fuselage to mark the launch of the new flight. Central Airlines also flies from Chengdu to Prague.
This is further success of Katowice Airport in the field of air cargo transport. This spring, Lufthansa Cargo launched the Frankfurt - Katowice route, which is flown twice a week by its Airbus A321 cargo aircraft. Ryanair's new routes from Bratislava are in operation from Sunday. The Irish low-cost carrier is now flying to Alicante, Barcelona, Malaga, Lamezia Terme, Naples, Palermo and Athens.
The airline will offer direct flights to 23 destinations in winter. In addition to the new ones, it will continue to fly to Charleroi, Paphos, Thessaloniki, Dublin, Alghero, Bari, Dalaman, Edinburgh, Eindhoven, London (Stansted), Manchester, Milan (Malpensa), Rome (Ciampino), Trapani, Lanzarote and Malta.
Tickets from Bratislava to Pisa, Italy are also available oorm now. This is a new Ryanair route for the summer 2026 flight schedule. Its operation will start on Monday, March 30 and it will fly every Monday and Thursday.

The south of Spain is at the peak of its popularity. Ryanair has been introducing direct flights to Malaga from four Czech airports and Bratislava during the past few years. From spring, you can also get to Malaga on a direct Ryanair flight from Košice and Katowice.
The regular Katowice – Malaga route will start operating on Friday, April 3, 2026 and will operate twice a week (every Monday and Friday). The Hungarian Wizz Air already flies between the two cities twice a week as well.
Košice does not have a direct service to Malaga yet. Ryanair will fly there for the first time on Thursday, April 2, 2026. The FR4766/7 route will operate twice a week, every Monday and Thursday.
The Irish low-cost airline launched direct flights to Malaga from Pardubice and Bratislava this weekend. It also flies there from Prague, Brno, Ostrava, Krakow and Vienna all year round.

The Hungarian low-cost carrier Wizz Air is convinced that the fourteen new routes it has announced from Bratislava are still not enough.
First, it is worth recalling where Wizz Air currently flies from Bratislava: Skopje and London (Luton). Two destinations.
Next April, Wizz Air is to fly from Bratislava to 27 destinations. These are Skopje, London (Luton), Bucharest, Barcelona, ​​Lamezia Terme, Plovdiv, Varna, Malaga, Košice, Alicante, Athens, Oslo (Gardermoen), EuroAirport, Naples, Niš, Palermo, Larnaca, Chisinau, Berlin, Rome (Fiumicino), Tirana, Dortmund, Ohrid, Tel Aviv, Pristina, Tuzla and Warsaw.

In the summer, it announced the creation of a base with two Airbus A320 family aircraft at Bratislava airport and at the same time won the tender for the operation of the domestic route Bratislava - Košice.
